Kid Canadas

The boys had a pretty exciting experience on Thursday night. Since we don't have cable TV all the cartoons they really get to watch are on CBC Kids in the mornings. So when the CBC Kids stage show, starring Lunar Jim and Curious George, came to Moose Jaw we had to go!

Together with their friends Simon and Cade (and their parents), Elijah and Brady got second row seats in the magnificent downtown theatre and saw the first stage show of their lives! There were no cameras allowed inside, so here we have pictures of the four boys after the show with all their paraphenalia.

The unfortunate thing about our close seating was that Brady actually got freaked out when the life size Lunar Jim came on stage at the beginning. He was already in awe of the huge screen but when he saw CBC Kids hosts Joyce and Kush in person and then this cartoon character in real life that was too much. He and Ang watched some of the show from the stairwell and then he played around with all the stuff in the lobby. He talks about the show as if it was the greatest thing though.

Elijah says the same thing, except he has the experience to back it up. He was dancing along ("but not singing Dad, I didn't want to") to everything and soaking it in with wide-eyed wonder. His and Brady's buddy Simon clung to his Mom most of the show (he's Brady's age) and then little Cade could hardly be contained he was so pumped.

Anyway, it was fun. Topped off with DQ afterward it was a night to remember. Here's Brady on the way out, and a tuckered Elijah on the drive home. Its nice to do special stuff for your kids!

Sounds amazing! Were the Doodlebops there? (I admit, I am a fan.)

Glad to hear the boys had fun with their first look at high culture. I guess this means we'll need to buy them box seats for some plays in Kelowna this summer. I think I heard that "Merchant of Venice" was playing, or was it "Waiting for Godot"? Anyway, later we can discuss our thoughts of the actors' choices over a couple of Fair-Trade cappaccinos.

Awesome, I don't blame Brady, full sized cartoon characters freak me out to this day.
