We Skate We Swim

Elijah went skating for the first time and did awesome. We were all tuckered out and ready to go home and he did not want to leave. He skated mostly by himself with the aid of a small little stool we brought to the rink, but played some puck hockey as others held on to him as well. We were quite surprised how much he liked it.

It was a beautiful day out on the rink. Uncle Jeff and Grandma Dot made sure Brady got to do some sledding. Grandpa Stu, Angie, Jeff, Jon, and then a few days later Dave and Amy, all had a few whacks at the puck and some glorious cross-ice feather passes of course.

On the last day of the Coutts holiday a bunch of us went to the spa in Moose Jaw. It was lightly snowing and both boys really took to the water this time. Brady sooner than Elijah, but Elijah worked up the bravery and ended up having a great time with all of us.

So glad that you have all had a great Christmas with your family. Those kinds of memories will mean so much to your boys as the grow up.

I bet Elijah was at least a little bit motivated to venture into the pool since his little brother was doing it, eh? Nothing like a bit of friendly rivalry to spur us on to exciting new things. =) If only I'd had a little sister who played team sports or something, I might have been more brave...

Jen =)
